Celebrating Memorial Day With Some Delicious Mushroom Burgers
Comments : 2 Posted in : Grilled on by : Jesus Brainz
Memorial Day is coming up this Monday. So I decided as a tribute to everybody who has offered their lives as a tribute and has served for the freedom in our country, to make a special meal in their honor.
So what does everybody usually do for Memorial Day?
They have picnics, go to the beach, have barbeques, other forms of celebration.
So for this Memorial Day, I decided to have a barbeque party with my friends and family in their honor.
And I decided to prepare a special meal for them.
I am going to create a delicious ginger mushroom infused burger with some sweet potatoes fries from scratch so they could enjoy a fresh homemade cooked meal.
So let me tell you how I began this mission.
Prepping The Ground Beef and Mushrooms
First of all, I had to dice up my mushrooms so I could infuse them with the ground beef.
Once I had all the mushrooms cut up I mixed them up with the ground beef.
I added a few sprinkles of ginger and a dash of garlic.
Once everything was well mixed together I formed them into a patty shape.
Prepping The Sweet Potato Fries
So the way I approach this task to make sweet potato fries from scratch is very simple.
First I peeled the sweet potatoes.
Once I had all of them peeled I started to cut them into rectangle shapes and then I would cut them again a bit thinner so they could look like the fry shape.
(Don’t worry if they all don’t come super perfect or in an oddly shape it’s completely normal. Plus it adds a bit of spazzas to your plate)
If you would like to learn a little secret to enhance the flavor of your sweet potatoes listen closely because I’m going to tell you now.
Cinnamon.
That’s it. It’s super simple and greatly increases your experience of enjoying sweet potato.
Just sprinkle some all over them and mix them well.
I also added a little bit of coconut oil and mixed them all around so they wouldn’t stick to the aluminum foil.
I put them in the oven and let them bake for about 15-20 minutes in the oven or until desired crispiness.
Grilling The Burgers
So as the fries were in the oven I went over to grill my burgers.
I fired up the grill and started blasting my music.
Since I’m doing this as a tribute to Memorial Day I decided to put something that would honor America.
So I put the song from Lecrae called “Welcome to America”.
This may not be the “most honorable” song that you could listen in honor of Memorial Day, but it is the truth about America and I rather listen to the truth and share it with everybody rather than listen to a fake imagination of what America is supposed to be.
But anyways sorry for my little rant lets get back to the cooking.
I threw on the burgers on the grill as well as the burger buns.
I highly believe in toasting the burger buns because it just makes your whole eating experience so much magical.
I spread a nice amount of garlic butter on the buns and let them toast on the grill as the burgers were cooking.
Assembling the Burger
Once I had all the burgers cooked and all the burger buns toasted and the fries done it was time to put everything together on the plate.
You already know the basic topping and sauces you could add to a burger
- Ketchup
- Mayo
- Mustard
- Pickles
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
Those are just the basic traditional toppings that go with a burger.
For my burger, I decided that instead of using lettuce I would use spinach.
I just believe spinach is better than lettuce it’s healthier and yummier in my opinion.
So since this whole meal is a tribute to Americans I tried to design the burger a bit like an American flag.
Granted I didn’t have the proper equipment and colors of the American flag to make it look beautiful, but I feel like I at least made it presentable and similar to the idea I had in my brain.
Finished Product
so let me show you the true beauty of my creation when everything is completely assembled and ready to devour.
Doesn’t your mouth start watering as soon as you see that delicious juicy burger in front of you?
I know I do.
My whole body gets weak and starts shaking in wonder of how that delicious burger tastes.
So I had to recollect myself and get ready to bite into the burger and let me tell it was…
PHENOMENAL!!
Completely out of this world the melted blue cheese and the mushrooms inside the burger complement themselves in ways I can’t even explain.
All I can say is for you to make this yourself and experience this amazing trip your about to endure and let me know how it goes for you.
So I hope you have enjoyed this recipe and would want to share it your friends and family to celebrate in honor of all the men and women who have fought and served for this amazing country. Thank you.
